HUANG TI: Also known as the Yellow
Emperor, according to tradition, Huang Ti was
the third emperor of CHINA (c. 2700 B.C) and is
attributed with compiling the basic principles
of Chinese medicine in a book entitled "Nei
Ching Su Wen." References to the exercises and
meditation techniques described by Huang Ti
are included in the writings of the Taoist
philosophers LAO TZU and CHUANG TZU. Some
form of these exercises penetrated HSING-I
and other styles of KUNG-FU. Huang Ti is also
believed to have introduced the bow and
arrow, writing, and ceramics to CHINA. (See also China article).
